The Community Services Division provides administrative, logistical and community-based resources for the Police Department, residents and businesses of the Village of Endicott, along with other Village departments.

The Division employs the Crossing Guards who work with Union Endicott Schools within the Village of Endicott and the Parking Authority-meter checkers.   The School Resource Program and the Community Policing Program are also under the umbrella of the Community Services Division.   Through our office, we assist with a variety of community services such as parade and traffic coordination,  the Neighborhood Watch Program,  the Civilian Police Academy, as well as acquisition of NYS Traffic Safety Grants.  We also supply statistical information requested by the Department, Village officials and the public as well as formulating the EPD annual report.

The School Resource Program is in it's 4th full year working with the Union Endicott School District.   Through the SRO program,  we are able to provide a specially trained officer to the schools within the Village bourdaries to assist with law enforcement needs within the school.   Officer M. Hilla is our current SRO and works as our liason with the UE School District.

In May, 2008,  the Endicott Police Department and the Endicott Fire Department were approved for a Child Passenger Safety Grant through the NYS Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.   With this grant,  we have set up a child passenger safety seat inspection station.   Here we have 4 SafeKids certified CPS technicians who will inspect and assist parents and caregivers with installations of car seats for their children.   With this grant,  we have also been able to provide individuals who demonstrate a need for a child safety seat with a new NHTSA safety certified car seat.   Inspections are provided free of charge,  each Tuesday, by appointment only.   To make an appointment, contact Sgt. Laurie Sorensen @ 607-757-2471.
